Matt Teichman has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Chicago. He also earned an M.A. in Cinema Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Chicago. He is a Programming Specialist at the Digital Library Development Center of the University of Chicago Library. He is also the creator, producer, and lead host of the Elucidations podcast, which won an Emergent Ventures grant from the Mercatus Center in 2019 and 2020.

In addition to his software development work in the University Library, Matt teaches “Introduction to Computer Programming Using Python” (Autumn), which is one of the core courses in Digital Studies. He also teaches functional programming in the University of Chicago Master’s Program in Computer Science.
