Sandra Schloen has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics (double major) from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University with a specialization in interactive technology. She has forty years of professional experience in software engineering and user training in both corporate and university settings. She works closely with a wide range of academic projects to manage their data and help them use advanced computational methods.

Sandy oversees the software and data-management systems employed by the Forum for Digital Culture to support faculty projects through all stages of research. She and her team work with project leaders and their student assistants to implement the best computational methods for achieving the project’s goals.

Sandy is also the lead developer of the OCHRE platform and the manager of the Forum’s OCHRE Data Service, which supports research and publication projects at the University of Chicago and other universities around the world.
